Reverend Grady Carl Parrish, 74, of Frankfort, was called home to his Lord and personal savior on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Bro. Grady was born on May 9, 1936 in Lake County, Florida. He and his beloved wife, Mary Frances moved to Frankfort in 1986. Grady was the pastor of the Frankfort Missionary Baptist Church and worked for the Animal Control for Franklin County. He graduated from Groveland High School, Groveland, Fla. in 1954 and received his Doctor of Divinity from NABI. He was called to preach in 1973 and has pastored many churches in Florida and Alabama. He loved studying the Bible, was a history buff, loved to hunt and shoot trap.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Frances Parrish; his four daughters, Gail Todd, of Gainesville, Ga., Dixie Lovell and husband, Drew, of Clarksville, Ga., Sylvia Witherington, of Land of Lakes, Fla., Tami Brown and husband, Clay, of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; his thirteen grandchildren, Cheyenne Brinson, of Chicago, Ill., Charity Phenis and husband, Michael, of Polk City, Fla., Brittany St. John and husband, Anthony, of Clanton, Ga., Aaron Porter and wife, Amanda, of Deltona, Fla., Chelsea Parr and husband, Keith, of Commerce, Ga., Ashley Porter, of Deltona, Fla., Nathan Miller, of Clarksville, Ga., Dylan Brown, Lucas Brown, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Garrett Witherington, of Land of Lakes, Fla., Bailey Jo Brown, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Abi Lovell, Andrew Lovell, of Clarksville, Ga.; his seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Peggy Sloan and husband, Punk, of Groveland, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Hull; father, Austin Parrish; sister, Laverne Clark; and his brother, Earl Parrish.
The pallbearers will be Wade Willingham, Dallas Bragwell, Houstan Hovater, Anthony St. John, Keith Parr, and Josh Everett. Honorary pallbearers will be any ministers who are present.
His body will lie in state from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Frankfort Missionary Baptist Church, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. Bro. Johnny Johnston and Bro. Andy Lee will officiate at the service. Interment will be at Old Frankfort Cemetery. Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
