PC hosting Cherokee for Homecoming

PHIL CAMPBELL — Phil Campbell’s playoff hopes took a hit last week with the Bobcats’ 28-26 loss to Lexington, but they are still alive for now.

Phil Campbell is 3-3 overall and 1-3 in region play, good enough for sixth in the region standings.

If the Bobcats can win their remaining region games they might be able to play in the post season for the first time since 2005.

Phil Campbell begins that stretch Friday when it hosts Cherokee.

Cherokee is struggling this season with a 1-5 record overall and a 0-4 record in region play.

This should be a relatively easy game for the Bobcats, who are averaging 34.8 points per game. Cherokee is allowing 39.7 points.

Phil Campbell’s defense should not have too many problems slowing the Cherokee attack, which averages only 8.2 points per game.

After this week Phil Campbell has two region games remaining — at Red Bay Oct. 15 and hosting Sulligent Oct. 22. The Bobcats trail both of those teams in the standings.
