PC heads to Colbert Heights
PHIL CAMPBELL — The Bobcats got their season off to a good start last week with a 27-6 victory at Cold Springs. It marked the first time since 2001 Phil Campbell won its season opening game.
This week Phil Campbell will try to duplicate another feat of the 2001 squad by winning the first two games of the year when the Bobcats travel to Colbert Heights.
Colbert Heights, which dropped from Class 3A to Class 2A this year, thrashed Danville 47-27 last week. The Wildcats have a pair of talented running backs and have many experienced linebackers and defensive backs.
The weakness of the Colbert Heights team is the offensive line, which lacks experience. Phil Campbell’s defensive line was able to disrupt the offenses of Haleyville during the fall jamboree and against Cold Springs last week.
This will be the 19th meeting of these teams with Phil Campbell leading the series 13-5.
