Sullivan, Nelson

Courtney Suzanne Nelson and James Clyde "Jamie" Sullivan, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, in an outdoor ceremony at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Followell officiating.
Parents of the couple are William and Suzanne Nelson of Meridian, and Jerry and Anita Sullivan of Columbus.
Grandparents of the bride are Janet Byrd, Wadell and Fran Byrd, and Mae Ward of Meridian. Her great-grandmother is Bessie Kate Garrison of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Otis and Louise Summerford of Amory, and Charles and Betty Jo Sullivan of Okolona. The bridegroom's great-grandparents are Nettie Tarver of Amory and Inez Ogg of Okolona.
Music for the ceremony was provided by pianist Kathy Nealey of Gilbertown, Ala., aunt of the bride.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a formal gown of tulle over satin. The strapless bodice was heavily sheered and highlighted with rhinestones and crystals. The sloped waistline met a multi-layered tulle skirt with scattered beading.
Maid of honor was Brooke Nealey of Gilbertown, Ala., cousin of the bride. Sara Carmichael of Meridian served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Larrisa Fleming of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kasey Trayal of Meridian.
Callie Nelson of Meridian, sister of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid. Emmie Hawkins of Smithville, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Chelda Beasley of Meridian was wedding director.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Fredie Carmichael of Meridian, Devin Davis and Josh Westbrook of Columbus, Will Canterbury of Amory and Dixon Sullivan of Okolona.
Jeffery Sullivan of Columbus, brother of the bridegroom, served as junior groomsman.
Logan Taylor of Meridian served as ring bearer.
Jessica Earley and Stormie Hawkins handed out birdseed and bubbles. Stormie Hawkins was also the guest register attendant.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Amy Fleming, Erin Johnson, Brittany Lewis, Cheryl Alford, Stacie Scarbrough, Brandi Scarbrough, Candy Cagle and Diana Hawkins.
After a honeymoon in Gulf Shores, Ala., the couple resides in Meridian.
