Homefolks U.S.A.
Hi folks,
Many people say the best thing to do is live your life “one day at a time.” This might be good advice.
I have a friend from another state who was really concerned about the year 2000. He and his family stockpiled a lot of food, made sure the auto was filled with fuel and purchased water like there would be no more. He really thought all the computers would shut down, airplanes would fall from the sky and so much more that space will not permit me to record all of it.
What happened?
Absolutely nothing. Things went on as usual, and here we are 18 years later, and everything is still going OK.
They were able to use the water, but all the other “stuff” had to be destroyed after the expiration date.
It’s good advice, folks, to live your life “one day at a time” and try to make the best out of every single day.
My good buddy Kenneth told me a few weeks ago that when he puts his feet on the floor each morning, he thanks God for the rest he received the past night, and he always ask God to protect him and his family throughout the day. Another friend Willard (a reformed alcoholic) said he thanks God every night for carrying him through the day sober; so far it’s been 18 years since Willard has consumed any alcohol. One day at a time has worked for Willard for many years, and today he is a very successful businessman.
Willard knows his weakness, and he tries his very best to avoid any place or person that might cause him to fall.
I am so thankful for the many friends I know and appreciate, and their advice is always welcomed. We never get too old to listen and learn.
Last week a person brought her grandchild into our store to make a purchase. “This is the only place when I need furniture,” she said. People like that make for a great day, and it is appreciated so very much.
A gentleman told me last week that the first article he reads each week is Homefolks U.S.A. Keep on reading our stories, and I will continue to share what little I know. Your comments are always welcome and appreciated so very much.
Til next time,
Your friend,
Bobby
