Civic group hosts political forum

With the upcoming municipal elections less than three weeks away, one Russellville group thinks the community needs to get to know the candidates who could potentially represent them.
The Franklin Civic-Social Club will be hosting a political forum and candidate meet-and-greet with the Russellville municipal candidates at the Chucky Mullins Center in Russellville on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Harold Vaughn, who serves as the vice-president of the Franklin Civic-Social Club, said their organization thought this would be a good event for the whole community.
“We think it’s good for the community to interact with the candidates and really find out where they stand on some issues,” Vaughn said.
“Our group is dedicated to helping our community. This is our town and we want the citizens of Russellville to be involved, be informed and have an active part in electing our officials to represent us.”
The Chucky Mullins Center is located at 136 Hamilton St.
Refreshments will be served during the event. Everyone in the city of Russellville is encouraged to attend.
