Louise S. Alverson, 88, of Russellville, Ala., passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 17, 2011.  She was born in Double Springs, Ala. and had lived in Russellville for 48 years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Bro. Barry Holcomb officiating.  There will be a private graveside service at Franklin Memory Gardens.  
She is survived by her sons, Jim H. Alverson, Jr., of Russellville, Ala. and Joe S. Alverson and wife, Debbie, of Cullman, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.H. Alverson; two brothers; and one sister.
After many years as a loving wife, mother and homemaker, she was employed by the Russellville City School System as a member of the central office and later as a teacher’s aide.  She loved children and so many of them that she taught continued to remember her and love her many years after her retirement.  Thank you to those of you who always thought of her on special occasions and for your many calls, cards and visits to her.  Your thoughtfulness meant so very much to her.  She was a magnet for hugs.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Russellville since 1963.  She relished her honorary position as a “Greeter” on Sunday mornings.  She loved her church and her church family.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Russellville or the charity of your choice.
