Gladys Avery Turner, 82, of Phil Campbell, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

She was born September 21, 1928.  She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 1, 2011 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with David Tidwell and Ronnie Hodge officiating.  Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.  Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville assisted the family.

She is survived by her son, Owen Turner; brothers, Lowell Landers and Larry Landers; sister, Florence Turner; grandchildren, Adam Turner, Regina Smith and Ashley Vandiver; great-grandchildren, Ian Turner, Kenna Turner, Brady Smith, Peyton Smith and Ella Vandiver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, N.G. and Mattie Landers; husband, Roland Turner; daughter, Carol Smothers; and brother J.C. Landers.
