Mildred Motes Matthews, 79, of Phil Campbell, died Friday, April 8, 2011.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 11, 2011 at Blue Spring Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Curtis Taylor officiating. Interment was in Blue Spring Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Leon Ergle, Charles Weeks, and Billy Weeks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Matthews; son, J. D. Matthews; parents, Richard and Ada Heath Motes; siblings, Zennie Dye, Foy Motes, Rachel Ergle, Eula Smith, Maudry Newell.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Duncan; sisters, Lula Weeks, Dallas Briley, Verda Hood and husband, Lester, Opal Smith; brother, David Motes and wife, Mary Jo; grandchildren, Rickey Matthews and wife, Michelle, Chris Matthews and Crystal May, Sharon Duncan, Robin Duncan, Jaylon Duncan and wife, Anna, Thomas Duncan; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
