Franklin County Marketplace opens April 2

The Franklin County Marketplace will open for the first time on April 2. This event will allow Franklin County residents to come together the first Saturday of each month to market their homegrown and handmade products.

The monthly event will be held at the Franklin County Farmer’s Market area next to the A.W. Todd Center in downtown Russellville.

Any Franklin County residents interested in being a vendor should contact the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce at 256-332-1760 or visit the chamber’s website at www.franklincountychamber.org to register.

The April market will feature a special guest – the Easter Bunny. Franklin the Easter Bunny will be available for photos from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Franklin County Marketplace is open from 7 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month. The schedule for April is as follows:

• 8 a.m. door prizes

• 9 a.m. gardening tips

• 10 a.m. special entertainment by Savannah Mills

• 10 a.m. to 12 noon photos with Franklin the Easter Bunny

• 11 a.m. door prizes.

“This will be a great way for local vendors and farmers to get together each month and for the community to support our neighbors,” Chamber of Commerce director Nina McNatt said.
