Willie Louise Day, 96, of Athens, Ala. passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at her home.  She was born May 4, 1914 in Franklin County, Ala. to John and Maggie Bottom Hammock.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 14, 2011 at Red Bay City Cemetery with Jimmy Day officiating.  Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, Ala. assisted the family.

She is survived by four children, Johnnie Sue Davis, Jean Craig, and Jerry Day, all of Athens, and Jimmy Day, of Veto, Ala.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Day; her parents; a brother, Golden Hammock; and sister, Parolee Johnson.

Pallbearers were Joe Davis, Mitch Davis, Howard Craig, Tommy Craig, Jonathan Day and Reggie Day.
