School board to hire superintendent Tuesday

The Russellville city board of education will meet Tuesday to name the system’s next superintendent.
The board interviewed Russellville administrative assistant Rex Mayfield and Tishomingo County, Miss., High School principal Dr. Eddie Britton on Friday. Mayfield is a former Russellville High School teacher and principal. Britton retired as the principal at Belgreen High School before moving to his new role in Mississippi.
Friday, school board officials announced that a decision would be made within two weeks. The board will now meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to name the replacement for retiring superintendent Don Cox.
