Rubin Doil “Rube” Moore, 84, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at Burns Nursing Home.
Mr. Moore was a carpenter by trade and a member of Centerview Church of Christ in the Jonesboro community.
The visitation will be 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Gerald Ricketts and Bro. Charlie Britnell. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Etta Moore; son, Doyle Moore; grandson, Bradley McCollister; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Velma Oliver Moore; daughters, Linda McCollister, of Russellville, Brenda Jones and husband, Jerry, of Florence, Sherry Hodges, of Sheffield; son, Gerald Moore and wife, Pam, of Russellville; grandchildren, Ladonna, Kelley, Mitch, Jerry, Lorie, Dusty and Haley; 21 great-grandchildren, Anna, Lydia, Josh, Christian, Karlie, Kara, Destiny, Emma, Alex, Kaleb, Isabella, Keslie, Kanen, Kinzie, Aidan, Morgan, Kaylee, Dozer, Patience, Derrick, Amberly; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be grandsons, Mitch Moore, Dusty Moore, Jerry Jones; and nephews, Howard Moore, Marshall Moore, and Jackie Goins. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles “Skip” Hodges and Randall Moore.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and especially Candy at Burns Nursing and Rehab, Dr. Longmire, and neighbors, Harold and Glenda Taylor for the love and care shown towards the family.
