William Thomas Canida, Sr., 84, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at Russellville Hospital.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Jeff Fleming and Bro. Wade Wallace. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Winnie Canida; son, William Thomas Canida, Jr.; and daughter, Deborah Canida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Frances Canida; children, Linda Mitchell and husband, Robert, Jerry Canida and wife, Kathy, Charles Canida and wife, Andrea; grandchildren, Neal Canida, Brandon Mitchell, Tyra Cummings, Jan Canida, Nikki Mayfield, Stephanie Britnell, Jamie Scott, April Scott, Amber West, Tyler Canida, Trey Canida, Tate Canida; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Neal Canida, Brandon Mitchell, Tyler Canida, Trey Canida, Tate Canida, John Scott, Jeremy Mayfield, and Michael Cummings.

Mr. Canida worked at Reynolds Metal Company for 34 years. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all.
