Local churches participate in Shoals choir festival
FLORENCE – The 3rd annual Heart & Voice Church Choir Festival will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence.
This community-wide interdenominational benefit concert will bring together 11 different local churches, raising their voices in support of Shoals Family Success Center.
The largest gathering of churches since the event began three years ago, 2011’s Heart & Voice Church Choir Festival promises to be an inspirational, entertaining event for all ages to enjoy.
Admission to the concert is free.
The “Heart & Voice” concert unites the music-loving Shoals community with a cause they can sing about: helping Shoals Family Success Center (SFSC), a nonprofit organization serving the needs of families in Colbert, Lauderdale, Franklin and Marion counties.
The Center connects families with the community resources they need to live more successful and independent lives.
The 11 participating church choirs performing this year include Edgemont United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church-Red Bay, First Baptist Church-Tuscumbia, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church-Florence, Killen United Methodist Church, St. James United Methodist Church, Tharptown Baptist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, Woodmont Baptist Church and Underwood Baptist Church. Each choir will present one of its favorite songs, and with more than 300 voices, will join together to close the program with a mass choir finale.
Enjoy the musical gifts of the Shoals’ Choirs – this uplifting experience thrilled the audiences who attended the past two years and there is no admission charge.
