Lucille M. McCarty Merritt, 75, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.
She was born March 23, 1935 in Russellville, Ala. and moved to Lakeland from Chicago, Ill., in 1968. She was a Beautician and Insurance Agent. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and dabbled into just about everything.
She is survived by her husband, Truman Merritt, of Lakeland, Fla.; son, Phillip Vincent, of Polk City, Fla.; daughter, Carolyn Pinkston, of Polk City, Fla.; step-daughter, Janet Lynn Deboise, of Brandon, Fla.; two brothers; one sister; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at Lanier Funeral Home in Lakeland, Fla.
