Carl Edward Borden, 72, of Spruce Pine, Ala., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011.
The visitation was Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Russellville Church of God. The 11 a.m. funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, with Bro. Nick McSpadden officiating. Interment will be in Aycock Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Avery Borden, Adam Borden, Preston Borden, Chuckie Borden, Kurt Borden, and Darrell Vandiver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Classie Borden; parents, Rufus and Mary Borden; three sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his children, Carl Randle Borden, of Cherokee, Keith Edward Borden, of Russellville, Robbie Whitfield, of Caro, Ga.; siblings, Gilbert Borden, of Tuscumbia, Brenda Vandiver, of Spruce Pine, Neelie Stanfield, of Coloma, Mich., Ruby Darty, of Hartford, Linda Weaver, of Spruce Pine, Shirley Blankenship, of Dade City, FLla., Freida Hopper, of Brooksville, Fla., Lela Taylor, of Covert, Mich.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews.
