PHIL CAMPBELL — The Bobcat offense continued to roll Friday night as Phil Campbell (3-2, 1-2) pounded Phillips 52-22 in non-region action.

Corey Alexander opened the scoring for the Bobcats with a 13-yard pass to Jake Dill with 3:09 remaining in the first quarter.

Alexander then hit Craig Saint on a screen pass that went 70 yards for another Phil Campbell touchdown.

Saint added to the lead with a 6-yard run with less than two minutes to play in the second quarter.

The Phil Campbell defense stopped Phillips and gave the offense the opportunity to pad the Bobcats’ advantage before halftime. Alexander found Dylan Rice for a 41-yard scoring pass to put Phil Campbell ahead 28-0 at the break.

Phillips (1-4, 1-2) prevented the shutout with a touchdown and 2-point conversion in the third before Alexander scored on a 3-yard run.

An interception by Rice later in the third quarter set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Alexander.

Phillips added another touchdown and 2-point conversion to cut the Bobcats’ lead to 40-16 by the end of the third.

Tyson Sumerel took over quarterbacking duties for the Bobcats in the fourth quarter and found Jamie Dorroh for a 53-yard touchdown pass with 6:42 remaining in the game.

Phillips intercepted a pass and returned it 55 yards for the Bears final touchdown.

Phil Campbell answered with a 58-yard touchdown pass from Sumerel to Dorroh.

Alexander finished the night completing 15-of-24 passes for 271 yards, three touchdowns. He also rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.

Saint was the leading rusher with 114 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown.

Dorroh was the leading receiver he caught two passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bobcats return to region play next week when they host Lexington.
