Mr. Odia Veto Newell, 80, of Phil Campbell, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at his home.
Mr. Newell was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.
Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with burial at Sardis No. 2 Cemetery in Addison. Kenneth Hawkins and Bryant Newell officiated.
Survivors include his children, Royce Newell and wife, Nell, of Phil Campbell. Bo Newell and wife, Melinda, of Haleyville, Teresea Lehman, of Phil Campbell, Julie Ables and husband, Chris, of Phil Campbell, Laura Hawkins and husband, Boe, of Phil Campbell; sisters, Colena Winstead, Elene Kimbrough and Edna Garrison, all of Russellville; Thelma Hutcheson, of Decatur and Dee Mancine, of Coral Springs, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleada Newell and his parents, Isreal and Dessie Newell. Pallbearers were Brandon Newell, Allen Newell, Nathan Newell, Boe Hawkins, Chris Ables and Trey Madden.
Ronda Michelle Sutter

Ronda Michelle Sutter, 41, of Tuscumbia, died Saturday, Nov. 10 at her home.
Mrs. Sutter was a native of Rockford, Ill. But had lived in this area for the past 35 years. She was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church in Russellville. She was a proud Tiger Mom for the Russellville Golden Tigers. She was a registered nurse and employed by Decatur General Hospital.
Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Chad Beck officiating. Burial followed in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Vincent Sutter, of Russellville; children, Trevor Hardy and wife, Mindy, of Decatur, Anthony Wayne Sutter, Catherine Lynee Sutter, Ryla Renee Sutter, Autumn Rebeka Sutter, all of Tuscumbia; father, Ronnie H. Hill, of Russellville; step-father, Donald Holland, of Haleyville; sister, Donna Kay Holland Clay and husband, Stevie, of Tuscumbia; nephews, Dylan Holland and Noah Clay; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Catherine South; several brother and sister-in-laws, aunts uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Carpenter Holland and grandmother, Velma McAfee. Pallbearers were Ryan Romans, Justin Esquabel, Jake Ward, Scotty Freeman, Mario Romans, Anthony Cochran, Bradley Franklin and Chase Woods. Honorary pallbearers were the Russellville High School Football Tigers.
Dorothy Haynes Jones

Dorothy Haynes Jones, 74, of Haleyville passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Haleyville and a member of Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Hugh Cavender and JB Tice officiating.
Burial followed in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Jones; children, Randy Jones and wife, Beverly, of Haleyville and Sandy Montgomery and husband, Jim, of Russellville; sisters, Loree Thibault, of Florida and Ola Mae Berry, of Gardendale; brothers, Wilford Haynes, of Haleyville and Daniel Haynes, of Haleyville; granddaughter, Jamie Wakefield, and husband, Craig; great-grandson, Grant Wakefield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Maytilda Haynes and brothers, Edward and Raymond Haynes.
