Meridian Community College continued its run through conference opponents on Wednesday with a fast-pitch softball doubleheader sweep of Holmes.
Stephanie Choo surrendered just two hits in the first game to lead the Lady Eagles to a 7-1 win. In the second game, Kirby Shelby pitched a shutout in Meridian's 8-0 win.
Meridian is 12-23 overall and 7-1 in MACJC Central Division play.

Hinds 7-0
East Central Community College suffered a heart-wrenching loss in the first game of a Wednesday doubleheader with Hinds before bouncing back for a shutout win.
The Lady Warriors held Hinds to five hits in the nightcap to split the series with a 6-0 win. In the early game, Hinds took a three-run win after a game-winning grand slam in the bottom of the seventh.

West Alabama 0-4
JACKSON West Alabama pounded out 20 hits during a Wednesday doubleheader but dropped both games to Belhaven College by the scores of 1-0 and 13-4.

East Central fell to 10-25 overall on Wednesday with an 8-5 loss to Copiah-Lincoln.

Lake dropped to 10-17 with a one-run loss at home Tuesday night to Ackerman. The Hornets were led at the plate by Cody Everett with two hits, including a double. Zach Edwards added two singles.

Clarkdale 3
Clarkdale (15-9) took a hard fought three-run loss to Division 7-2A foe Seminary on Tuesday night. Kyle Boswell had two hits to lead the offense. Michael Davis added two hits, including a double.

Heidelberg Academy 8
Central Academy 1
Heidelberg Academy improved to a perfect 19-0 with a seven-run home win over Central Academy Tuesday night. Brooks Lewis was the winning pitcher for Heidelberg Academy to move his record to 5-0. Lewis led the Rebels at the plate with a home run, and Bo Welch added a double.

Wayne County 6-5
The War Eagles closed out Division 5-4A action by dropping a doubleheader to Florence (7-6, 10-5) on Tuesday night. In game one, Wayne County managed five hits, and Cade Clanton led the way with two hits, including a double.
In game two, the War Eagles had eight hits in the five-run loss to fall to 10-18 for the season. Clanton once again led the way at the plate with three hits.

The Newton County Lady Cougars ended the 2004 fast-pitch softball season by dropping a four-run decision on the road at Our Lady Academy. The Lady Cougars finished 18-13.
