DEKALB Kemper Academy's girls suffered their first District 3-A loss of the season on Monday night.
Tuesday night, the Lady Rams looked as if they were still feeling the effects.
A defensive struggle between KA and Lamar School turned into a free-throw exhibition by Kemper's Kayla Mosley here Tuesday night at the Knox Dudley Gymnasium.
Unfortunately for the visiting Lady Raiders, Mosley was up to the challenge.
All 17 of Mosley's points came from the free-throw line, and she led Kemper to a 47-38 victory over Lamar. The Raiders earned a split by winning the boys' game, taking an easy 57-14 win over Kemper.
Both Lamar teams return to action Thursday in their own tournament, while Kemper Academy's next action is Dec. 19 against Sumter Academy.

A couple of long scoring droughts and Mosley's free-throw shooting did in the Lady Raiders in Tuesday's varsity-opener.
KA and Lamar were tied 13-13 after one quarter, but the Lady Raiders didn't score during a stretch of 4:35 to open the second period. Still, Kemper was up just 23-20 at the break.
A 7-0 run to start the third quarter, capped by a 3-pointer from Samantha Harpole, pushed the Lady Rams ahead by double digits as Lamar went 3:20 without a point this time.
It was a 34-25 game going into the fourth quarter, although the Lady Raiders got within 37-34 on a basket from Lizzie Williams with 1:12 left.
That's when Mosley took over, hitting all 10 of her free-throw attempts in the final 56 seconds to fend off Lamar's rally.
Leslie Beach added 12 points for Kemper, while Nichole Sanders grabbed 14 rebounds and Eve Darnell had six points and four steals.
KA out-rebounded Lamar 32-30 a glaring number considering the Lady Raiders held a 20-11 edge on the glass at halftime.
Williams, Cheryl Luquire and Kristina Makey all fouled out of the contest for Lamar, which dropped to 5-6 on the season.
Luquire had team-highs of 16 points and eight rebounds, while Williams scored 10 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had three steals.
