LIVINGSTON, Ala. Dedication is the only word that can be associated with University of West Alabama athletics director Dee Outlaw.
Outlaw was honored for his lifelong dedication as one of the newest members of the West Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame this past weekend in Livingston during homecoming.
Outlaw has served many different roles while at UWA . His association with the athletic department began as a student. Outlaw got his start as a student assistant in the sports information department and in 1975 he became the first ever sports information director at West Alabama.
Outlaw is also no stranger to Tiger football. He has seen every West Alabama football game over the past 31 years. Outlaw has served on various committees at West Alabama and in the Gulf South Conference, but his heart will always be that of a Tiger.
Outlaw's wife Kathy is also a graduate of UWA and many other members of the family are graduates of the university as well. Outlaw's father, aunt, three brothers, sister-in-law, and eight cousins also attended the college.
The long history of West Alabama athletics will always have the signature of Dee Outlaw.
and the future looks bright indeed in Livingston.
