Koehn, Polk

Summer Tomelia Polk and Brett Ray Koehn were united in marriage on Sept. 13, 2003, at 6 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church in the Damascus Community of DeKalb. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Robert Higginbotham.
Parents of the couple are Tommy Polk of Sumrall, Amelia Polk of Collinsville, and Kenny and Denise Koehn of Faunsdale, Ala.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Munson Sr. and Helen Chisolm of Collinsville, Francis and Frankie Harvey of Escatawpa and the late Edgar Louis Polk of Foxworth.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Nancy Baty of Scooba and the late Billy Ray Baty, and Luella Koehn of Montezuma, Kan., and the late Melvin Koehn.
Nuptial music was proved by Lisa Pevey, organist. Vocalist were Lisa Pevey, Tammy Kelly and Tyler Gist, cousins of the bride, and Miranda Beckham.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a satin gown featuring a fitted bodice of silk lace, pearls and iridescent sequins. The Taffer neckline was adorned with pearls and iridescent sequins. The back of the gown featured satin buttons and fell into a chapel-length train that was bordered with scalloped silk lace. Her fingertip-length veil with pearl accents was anchored with a tiara of rhinestones and pearls. Her jewelry included pearl earrings, a gift from the bridegroom.
Matron of honor was her sister, Tiffany Gordon. Maid of honor was Amanda Lutz of Hattiesburg. Bridesmaids were Kara Koehn, sister of the bridegroom, Brittney Brantley, Nicole Walker and Jonie Warren, cousins of the bride, Emily George and Nicole Miller of Hattiesburg. McKenzie Walker, cousin of the bride, and Madison Inman, niece of the bride, served as flower girls.
Huston Knox served as best man. Groomsmen were Lee Hall, Nathan Waddell, Michael Smith, Glen Culpepper, Troy Massey and Alan Polk, brothers of the bride, Colby Smith, Troy Massey and Alan Polk. Jacob Gordon, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Jonie Godwin served as guest book and program attendant. She also served as teagirl.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony and was hosted by the bride's parents. Assisting at the reception were Carolyn Hamilton and Mary Dover.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner.
After a honeymoon on the Gulf Coast, the couple resides in DeKalb.
