Melanie Olson and Chris Thompson, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Bickford officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Olson, and Judge and Mrs. Gerald Wayne Thompson, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Leola Ethridge and Jewell Wyckoff, both of Meridian, and Mr. and Mrs. James Edwards of Mobile, Ala.
Grandparent of the bridegroom is Louise Thompson of Meridian.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Paul Barkley and Jennifer Holloway, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless ball-gown style designer dress. The bodice flowed into a V, with a full organza skirt, which featured intricate appliques and handsewn seed pearls with iridescent sequins. The dress had a semi-cathedral-length train.
Brooke Tilghman of Meridian attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Tilghman, Tabitha Smith and Holly Tilghman, all of Meridian.
Victoria Neal of Meridian was flower girl.
Dusty Thompson of Meridian served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Andy Hall, Mark Lindley, David Little and Shaun Olson, all of Meridian.
Eagan Tilghman of Meridian was ring bearer. Program attendant was Leanne McKissack.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Gidget Olson, Tina Creel and Melissa Priester.
After a honeymoon cruise to Cancun and Cozumel, Mexico, the couple resides in Meridian.
