    HATTIESBURG Graveside services for Gloria Z. Embrey will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Highland Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Embrey, 78, of Hattiesburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Queen City Nursing Center in Meridian. She was a secretary for the Mississippi State Board of Health in Jackson.
    Survivors include a sister, Joyce Embrey Moore, her nephews, Steve Moore, Greg Moore and David Scott Moore, all of Hattiesburg; four great-nieces and three great-nephews.
    The family requests memorials be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church.
    William James McElhenney
    UNION Services for William James McElhenney will be held today at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Scott Engel and Tony Addy officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Congregational Church Cemetery.
    Mr. McElhenney, 77, of Decatur, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
    Survivors include his wife, Margie McElhenney of Decatur; three sons, Danny McElhenney of Canton, David McElhenney and Randy McElhenney, both of Decatur; two sisters, Louise Harris of Decatur and Juanita Davis of Eight Mile, Ala.; three brothers, Kiwanis McElhenney of Bellton, Charles McElhenney of Oakland and Clark McElhenney of Semmes, Ala.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    Peggy Grace Simons
    Homemaker
    QUITMAN Graveside services for Peggy Grace Simons will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Montrose Cemetery with the Rev. Buddy Petty officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Simons, 59, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include her son, Stan Simons of Meridian; a daughter, Sonya Holloman of Quitman; two sisters, Lottie Smith of Houston, Texas, and Joan Thomas of Quitman; and seven grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    John R. Bounds
    Retired teacher, Farmers Home Administration
    Services for John R. Bounds will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Byron Pickering and Hugh Poole officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Bounds, 83, of Macon, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Mr. Bounds was a native of Lauderdale County. He held a master's degree from Mississippi State University and taught vocational agriculture for several years in Mississippi schools including Collinsville High School.
    During his teaching years, he served as president of the Mississippi Vocational Agriculture Association. Following his teaching years he was with Farmers Home Administration from which he retired in Macon.
    During World War II he served in the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife, Eugenia, were active members of First Baptist Church of Macon, where he was a deacon and sang in the choir. He loved music and was a member of the Columbus, Miss., Barbershop Chorus. He was president of the local chapter of National Association of Retired Federal Employees and enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Macon Country Club
    Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Fowler Bounds of Macon; a sister, Mary A. Bounds Russell of Meridian; seven nephews, three nieces; and two nephews and two nieces on Mrs. Bounds side.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Annie Bounds; three brothers and four sisters.
    The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
    Pallbearers will be his nephews, Erskine Poole, Aubert Poole, Edward Poole, Walter "Wally" M. Bounds Jr. and Joel Bounds.
    Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Macon First Baptist Church and members of his Sunday school class.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Alex E. Dees Jr.
    Retired Tolbert Chevrolet salesma
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Alex E. Dees Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Dees, 73, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. He was a veteran of World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Burnice Dees, two sons, Alex Dees III and Bobby Dees, all of Philadelphia; a brother, Elbert Dees of Jackson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Rhomus H. Shelby
    NEWTON Services for Rhomus H. Shelby will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Gilstrap officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.
    Mr. Shelby, 71, of Newton, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Riley Hospital in Meridian.
