Lamar School boys down East Rankin

The Raiders of Lamar avenged an earlier loss to East Rankin Academy with a 50-31 win on Tuesday night.
Austin Roebuck scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the homestanding Raiders.
Lamar pressed the Patriots and gave them trouble for most of the game. The Raiders struggled from the line in the first half, but led 25-17 at the break.
The Raiders stretched the lead to 37-22 after the third quarter and held on for the victory.
Taylor Dean and David Haggard finished with nine points each in the game. Haggard also had eight assists. Brannon Harrison finished with nine rebounds for the Raiders. Curtis Weldon led the Patriots with 17 points.
Lamar improves to 5-2 on the season with the win and will travel to take on Leake Academy on Thursday night.
Clarkdale girls 51
Edinburg 25
Danielle Gaddis scored 16 points to lead the Clarkdale Lady Bulldogs to a 51-25 win over Edinburg on Tuesday night.
Clarkdale took a 27-17 lead at the half after outscoring Edinburg 17-7 in the second quarter, but really blew the game open in the third quarter. The Lady Bulldogs outscored Edinburg 19-2 in the third to take the big victory.
JorD'an Orr scored 12 points and Felicia Kirksey added ten in the victory for Clarkdale. Kim Sanders led Edinburg with seven points.
Edinburg will play in the Noxapater Tournament against the host team on Friday night.
East Rankin 31
Lamar girls 20
East Rankin outscored Lamar 15-7 in the third quarter on the way to the 11-point win.
Emily Massey led ERA with nine points, while Crystal Sessums and Amy Cole had eight each.
Keely Phillips scored six points to lead Lamar. In junior high action, ERA took a 33-5 win.
Clarkdale boys 54
Edinburg 49
Clarkdale outscored Edinburg 21-9 in the fourth quarter to overcome a seven-point deficit and take a 54-49 win on Tuesday night.
Brandon Mabry scored 13 points for the winners, while Quinton Walker scored 11 and Mat Tucker and Rocky Kirksey had 10 each.
Sumter Aca. boys 69
South Choctaw 56
John Upchurch scored 17 points and Chase Schroeder and Wayne Malone scored 16 points each to key the Eagles past South Choctaw Academy.
J.D. Todd added 11 points for the winners. In junior high action, South Choctaw took a 25-18 victory.
Warrior girls 39
Patrician 38
Brandy Gregory scored 11 points and Alisha Coleman had 10 to lead Warrior to the one-point win.
Leslie Goodman scored 16 points to lead Patrician Academy, which is now 0-3 on the season.
Sumter Aca. girls 32
South Choctaw 28
Sumter Academy moved its record to 2-1 on the season with the win over South Choctaw Academy.
Natalie Fox had seven points and Theresa Todd six for the winners, who next visit Warrior Academy in Eutaw.
Patrician boys 65
Warrior Academy 30
Roel Dekkers scored 22 points to lead 2-1 Patrician to the lopsided win over Warrior Academy.
Travis Abate scored 14 and Hunter Campbell 12 for the winners.
Choctaw Central 79
Durant girls 58
Chantay Frazier scored 23 points to help the Lady Warriors improve to 8-0 on the season.
Willa Thomas scored 18 for the winners, while Ashley Flint hit for 13.

Durant boys 47
Five Warriors scored in double figures as Choctaw Central rolled to the easy victory.
Deon Lewis scored 17 points for the winners, while Sean Ashpanek, Rodgrick Anderson, Beasley Willis and Sean Daughtery added 12 each for the 6-1 Warriors.
