Nan Elizabeth Cobb and Nicholas Arthur Barham exchanged wedding vows in a recent candlelight ceremony at First Baptist Church of Carthage. The Rev. Anthony George, cousin of the bride, of Winter Park, Fla., officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William S. Cobb of Lena, and Mr. and Mrs. R. David Barham of Carthage.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Beatrice Owen Manderson and the late Fred A. George, Sr. of Kosciusko, and the late Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Cobb of Meridian.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Hattie Arthur and the late Homer Arthur Jr. and Margaret Barham of Carthage and the late Rodney Barham.
Presiding at the register was Gabie Warren.
Program attendants were Callie Craig, cousin of the bridegroom, and Annedrea McMillan.
Nuptial music was presented by Michael Eichelberger, guitarist; Marianna Harkins and Amy Rhea, soloists; Laurie Henderson, organist; and Linda Hatch, pianist. The ringing of the hand bells by Mrs. Terry Jones announced the hour.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white bridal satin. The bodice was embellished with caviar beading and sequins in an ivy pattern. The back featured a low V-neck with tiny covered buttons and an inverted pleat that cascaded into a chapel length train.
The full skirt had alternating panels of satin and the same delicate ivy and patterns of caviar beading. Her fingertip-length veil of illusion fell from a headpiece detailed with matching caviar beads. She carried a bouquet of Anna Roses, white stock and freesia, hand tied with sheer French ribbon.
The bride's sisters, Suzanne Byrd and Sherry Keith served as matrons of honor. Maid of honor was Christen Herrington. Bridesmaids were Jill Ray Bell, Katherine Craig, cousin of the bridegroom, Leslie George, cousin of the bride, Amanda Hillman, Jessica Keith, niece of the bride, and Hayley Wooten.
Sydney Keith, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl. The bride's attendants wore floor-length gowns of iridescent coral.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Cass Arthur, uncle of the bridegroom, Tyler Blocker, cousin of the bridegroom, Allen Byrd, nephew of the bride, Andy Chambers, Joseph Grice, Will Hamilton, Ryan Wade and Freddie Woods.
Jacob Martin, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents honored the couple with a reception at the Leake Country Club.
Rose petal girls were Hannah Newsome, cousin of the bride, and Sara Thomas.
Following a wedding trip to the Royal Bahamian Sandals Resort in the Bahamas, Nick and Beth are at home in Oxford, where they are continuing their education.
