PHILADELPHIA Services for Syble McLemore will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Bernard Nail officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Ms. McLemore, 68, of Ridgeland, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was a retired machine operator for General Electric Co.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolly Collette Brock of Spring, Texas; a sister, Juanita Barrett of Newton; brothers, Wendell McLemore of Houston, Texas, Hubert McLemore of Brandon, Ted McLemore of Jackson and Harry McLemore of Fairhope, Ala.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Services for John W. Cherry Sr. will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Arrat Baptist Church in Scooba with the Rev. Joseph Cherry Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cherry, 67, of Scooba, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his mother, Annie Louise Cherry of Bellville, Ill.; children, John W. Cherry Jr. and Fred Lee Cherry, both of Scooba, Robert Lee Cherry and his wife, Antionette, of Preston, James Earl Cherry and his wife, Mattie, of Porterville, Willie Edward and Jimmy Dean Cherry, Mary Louise Cherry and Johnnie Mae Houston, all of Scooba; brothers, George W. Cherry of East St. Louis, Ill., Joseph Cherry and his wife, Myrtlene, of Peoria, Ill., James Walker, Henry Walker and his wife, Phyllis, of East St. Louis and Vester D. Walker of Scooba; sisters, Clora Cherry of Cahokia, Ill., Mary Elizabeth Cherry of Bellville, Mae West Dale and her husband, Frank Henry, of East St. Louis, Burnetta Cox of East St. Louis and Wanda Bowens and her husband, Darryl, of Jackson; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife.

Melba Ruth McAslan

Graveside services for Melba Ruth McAslan will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Reid Whittington officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McAslan, 81, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Queen City Nursing Center. She was a retired anesthetist.
Survivors include her husband, Charles A. "Scot" McAslan of Meridian; a daughter, Beth Covert and her husband, Larry, of Meridian; sons, Tom Carmichael and his wife, Kathy, of Meridian and Bob Carmichael and his wife, Peggy, of Enterprise; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a brother T.W. Wilder III.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lena Ruth Sartain.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
