    Retired
    DEKALB Services for Jasper Bohannon will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Belmount M.B. Church in DeKalb. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist church Cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Bohannon, 79, of DeKalb, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in DeKalb. He was born in Kemper County to the late Jake Bohannon and Onie Grady. He joined the U.S. Army on Jan. 26, 1943, and received an honorable discharge on Sept. 24, 1947. Upon his discharge, he worked as a merchant seaman with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for 12 years. He served his country during the Korean War as a merchant seaman. He retired in 1988 as a long shoreman.
    Survivors include his wife, Joyce Bohannon; a son, Greg Bohannon; his step-mother, Queenie Bohannon; grandchildren, Nevin, Gregory Jr., Nicholas, Anthony, Titus, Tiffany and Darron Bohannon; three brothers, Johnny, Jake and Johnny E. Bohannon; four sisters, Rainey Hurley, Mary Garrett, Bettie Bohannon and Martha Bohannon.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudia Glenn Bohannon.
    Visitation will be today 1 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Doris Dubose Hurst
    Retired
    Graveside services for Doris Dubose Hurst will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Hurst, 91, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare Center. She was retired from Maywebb Hosiery and was a native of Lufkin, Texas. She was a long time member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church and served as church pianist for many years.
    Survivors include her daughters, Lanell Hurst Jones of Lufkin, Eloise Hurst Fleming and her husband, Bobby, and Kathleen Hurst Anderson, all of Meridian; grandsons, Michol G. Hurst, Michael S. Fleming, Richard A. Fleming and Stephen H. Jones; granddaughters, Jeanette H. Armstrong, Lissa J. Johnson, Karen A. Joyner, Cynthia Anderson, Angela Deen and Suzanne Fleming; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Hurst; a son Richard G. Hurst; her parents, W.T. and Mary Della Dubose; a sister and four brothers.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Katherine Foster
    Southern Baptist home missionary
    Services for Katherine Foster will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Danny Chisolm, Harold Ly and Dr. Wayne Riley officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Foster, 82, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in her home. She was born in Medford, Texas, and graduated from Ponca City High School. She attended Moody Bible College in Chicago and served as pianist for her father's evangelistic meetings.
    She was married to Hugh Foster for more than 63 years and they served as home missionaries, she taught English to international students and their families while living in Baton Rouge, La. Their work allowed them to sponsor international families coming to the U.S.
    She was an active member of Central Baptist Church where she worked with the music and children's programs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a true follower and servant of her Lord Jesus Christ.
    Survivors include her husband, Hugh Foster of Meridian; daughters, Shannon Maxwell of Boston and Suzanne Hurst and her husband, Charles, of Meridian; a sister, Mary Sue Armstrong of Olympia, Wash.; four grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. P.T. Stanford; two brothers; and a daughter, Martha Foster.
    Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Mission Fund.
    Pallbearers will be James Maxwell, David Hurst, Gene Raley, Tommy Hurst, Jody Hurst, Johnny Jones and Tal Dukes.
    Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Scrap Iron Sunday School Class.
    Visitation will be today 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
    Vivian Louise Welford
    WAYNESBORO Services for Vivian Louise Welford will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Springbank Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Walley and Jesse Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Mrs. Welford, 73, of Silas, Ala., died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include sons, James Welford and Roger Welford, both of Silas; daughters, Jewel Jones of Grove Hill, Ala., Tina Bunch of Raleigh and Linda Phillips of Silas; sisters, Ella Marie Rowell of Butler, Ala., Wilma Odom of Wilmer, Ala.; brothers, Johnnie H. Mosley of Flintsone, Ga., Albert Mosley of Wilmer and David Mosley of Demopolis, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
