Allison Ruth Breland and William Alan Crotwell of Birmingham, Ala., were married Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with the Rev. Dr. Charles M. Durham officiating.
Parents of the couple are George Clarence and Rosemary Rew Watkins of York, Ala.; Kenneth E. and April M. Breland of Fairhope, Ala.; William Harris and Lynette Turner Crotwell of Tuscaloosa.
The bride is the granddaughter of Richard Murry and Jean Slay Rew of Ward, Ala.; William and Ina Ruth Murchison of Marion, Ala., and the late Moland Lavoy Breland.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Flossie Peeks and the late Albert Peeks; the late Clarence H. Turner of Tuscaloosa and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Harris Crotwell Sr. of Bessemer, Ala.
Music for the ceremony was provided by L. Jeffries Binford, organist; N. Lamar Buckner, flautist; and Ashley Elizabaeth Brown, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal white strapless gown with an enhanced wrap waistline. The hemline was embellished with Alencon lace with crystals sewn into the scallop design. She wore a fingertip-length veil with satin corded edging anchored by a pearl and crystal tiara.
Sarah Ann Granger of Tallahassee, Fla., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Elizabeth Crotwell of Atlanta, sister of the bridegroom, Allison Creel Brown of Memphis, Tenn., Anthea Renee Drew of Gainesville, Fla., Lauren Jennifer Colton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Heidi Marie Sinopoli of Birmingham.
The Bible bearer was Ashley Shellaine Drinkard of Fairhope, Ala. Flower girl was Haley Leah Breland of Birmingham, cousin of the bride.
Guest registry attendants were Meredith Riley and Deddie Robertson of Birmingham. Program attendants were Jana and Lauren Smelley of Tuscaloosa.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Richard Kenneth Lavoy Breland of Birmingham, brother of the bride, John Bryan Poole, Sean Micha Monte and Cooper Freeman Johnson, all of Birmingham, John William Pfaudler Jr. of Atlanta, Nicholas Dale Strickland Jr. of Jackson, Richard Tyler Turner of Tuscaloosa and James Matthew Kalahar of Brandon.
A reception was held at The University Club following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple resides in Birmingham.
