Cedar Hill hosts free hunter education class
For young people looking to obtain a hunter education certification to get a hunting license, Cedar Hill Trap Range will host a hunter education course Aug. 26.
The one-day education course will begin at 8 a.m. Aug. 26. Class size is limited to 25 participants, who must pre-register to attend.
Cedar Hill Trap Range owner Wade Willingham said he has hosted the class, which is led by game warden Myron Murray, for a number of years as a convenient opportunity for people in Northwest Alabama. The next closest course is offered in Cullman.

The course includes firearms safety and handling, responsible hunting and hunter ethics, wildlife laws, wildlife management and identification, archery, muzzleloading, first aid, survival and game care, according to www.outdooralabama.com.
Those who want to participate should go online and register by Aug. 25 at noon. Participants must be 10 years old or older.
Cedar Hill is located at 4021 Highway 84 on the lake.
