Belgreen pummels Cherokee

The Belgreen Bulldogs exploded for ten runs in the first inning and 13 runs in the third inning to run away from the Cherokee Indians last week 23-4.
Several players had big games at the plate with multiple hits, RBIs and runs scored.
K.C. Wilson went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scored a run. Emmie Scott went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Shellie Barber went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs. Cortny Williams went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and scored two runs. Katie Dempsey reached base four times with two RBIs and scored four times. Emma Dempsey reached base three times with one RBI and scored three runs. Gracie Dempsey went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Finally, Cammi Terrell went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and scored two runs. Bailey Wood and Kelsey Wilson both scored runs for the Bulldogs, as well.
Scott scored first for the Bulldogs on a single by Gracie Dempsey. Katie Dempsey scored on a single by Terrell. Williams scored on a fly ball single by Wilson to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.
With the bases loaded, Gracie Dempsey scored on a walk to give Belgreen a 4-0 lead. After the walk, Belgreen pounded out five straight hits, including a triple, to run away with the game in the first inning. Emma Dempsey singled first scoring Terrell again, Wilson scored on a single by Barber, and Emma Dempsey scored on a single by Scott. Katie Dempsey had a two-RBI triple, scoring Barber and Scott. Dempsey scored on a single by Williams to cap off the ten-run inning.
Cherokee scored four in the bottom of the second, but the Bulldogs responded again with another double-digit run inning, scoring 13 in the third before the game was called.
