Cultura Garden Club begins spring fundraiser
Spring is a favorite time for planting new flowers. It’s a time when everything seems to come alive again as sunshine returns to chase away the cold, gray days of winter. Russellville’s Cultura Garden Club is getting prepared to bring colorful blooms to downtown – but club members need a little funding.
The club is in the midst of a May Baskets for Mom fundraiser sale, with hanging baskets and combo gardens from McGee Farm.
An assortment of hanging baskets – including varieties of petunias and millibells – as well as combo gardens are available for purchase. Combo gardens, club member Hillary Hall explained, are “a combination of four or more plants in a decorative brown plastic pot.” Plants include lantana, geranium, dahlia, sun impatiens and herbs.
Gardens are $20, and hanging baskets are $14. For more information call Hall at 256-460-8988 or talk with any Garden Club member.
