RHS scores well against Wilson

The Russellville boys’ tennis team played Wilson School Feb. 25 at the Russellville tennis courts. The boys team had two doubles pairs to play in doubles matches: Jesus Betancourt and Porter James won their match 8-6, and Will Walker and Charlie Chard won 8-0.
The boys’ team also played four singles matches, in which their top four players played against the top four players from Wilson. Russellville one, Josh Williams, won his match against Wilson one with the score of 8-1. Jake Williams, Russellville two, won his match against Wilson two with a score of 8-2. Russellville three, Levi Hargett, and Russellville four, Porter James, both won their singles in a golden match with the score of 8-0.
The Russellville girls’ tennis team also played Feb. 25 against Wilson. The girls’ team played three doubles tennis matches: Grace Mitchell and Maleia Gist won their match 8-0; Lariza Garcia Delgado and Addie Scruggs won their match 8-3; and Rebecca Parrish and Emma Claire Bragwell won their match 8-0.
All the girls’ team players played singles matches against Wilson players. Russellville one, Grace Mitchell, and Russellville two, Maleia Gist, both played amazing matches but ending up losing: Mitchell lost 5-8, and Gist lost 6-8. Russellville three, Lariza Garcia Delgado, won her match 8-5, and Russellville five, Rebecca Parrish, won her match 8-3. Russellville four, Addie Scruggs, and Russellville six also won their singles match in golden matches with 8-0 scores.
The next Russellville tennis team match will be March 8 at the Russellville tennis courts against Brooks.
