Voting ends today for Belgreen in the 2015 Red Ribbon Photo Contest
Throughout October, in conjunction with the National Family Partnership’s 30th Annual Red Ribbon Week, families and schools decorated their homes and campuses to promote living healthy, drug-free lifestyles. Each decoration featured a red ribbon and this year’s national Red Ribbon Week theme: “Respect Yourself. Be Drug Free.”
Locally, Belgreen High School participated and is in the running for the grand prize: $1,000 for the school’s drug prevention programs and an iPad.
The National Family Partnership’s Red Ribbon Photo Contest, now in its fifth year, is co-sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The contest was created in an effort to prevent drug use and educate youth during Red Ribbon Week and beyond.
“This contest was designed to provide a natural opportunity for parents and educators to talk to kids about drug abuse and prevention in a relaxed and fun way,” said NFP President Peggy Sapp. “We are asking everyone to participate by voting for their favorite entry to help support families and schools in spreading the drug free message to children.”
Voting deadline is Nov. 18. Visit www.RedRibbon.org/vote; people can vote up to 10 times per 24-hour period.
A total of twenty entries will be announced Dec. 4 as winners of the 2015 National Red Ribbon Photo Contest.
