Beating Hearts Tour comes to Russellville Oct. 11

NewSong is slated to bring its Beating Hearts Tour to Russellville’s High School Auditorium Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Hitting multiple cities across the country this fall, the tour is presented by Holt International and will also feature award-winning vocalist Mandisa and chart-topping singer/songwriter Danny Gokey, both former “American Idol” finalists.

Tickets are available at Stephenson Electric Service, Alabama Central Credit Union, Campbell Vision Center, First Baptist Church of Russellville or LifeWay Christian Store of Florence. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.iTickets.com or by calling 1-800-965-9324. VIP tickets ($40) include early entry at 5 p.m. and preferred seating, while main floor seats are $25 and general admission balcony seats are $20.

NewSong will showcase selections from the best-selling worship release, “Faithful” (Integrity Music). The critically-acclaimed 13-song live recording – the group’s first worship set in a decade – is highlighted by such songs as “This Beating Heart,” “Make A Way” and the title cut.

“It’s going to be real high energy – a lot of exciting music,” said Billy Goodwin, founding member of NewSong. He said they are excited to be performing with Mandisa and Danny Gokey and described the concert as “a very ministry-oriented show.”

“We share the gospel and share about having a relationship with Jesus – what it means and how it can change your life,” Goodwin said. He encouraged people to bring their loved ones to the show “to have a good time” and to experience the band “sharing what’s going on that really has changed our lives to the point we feel compelled to tell others.”

With a career spanning more than 30 years, 19 albums, 20 No. 1 Christian radio singles, a No. 1 mainstream AC hit, a GRAMMY® Award nomination and induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, NewSong is among the most respected artists and mentors in Christian music today.

In less than a year, Mandisa performed her three hit singles “Overcomer,” “Good Morning” and “Stronger” on the highest rated morning show, ABC’s Good Morning America. Her album, “Overcomer,” released in 2013 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart, with the album’s title track holding on to the No. 1 spot for 12 weeks on the National Christian Audience chart.

BMG recording artist Danny Gokey became a favorite of millions of fans as a Top 3 finalist on Season Eight of American Idol. Following Idol, Gokey released his debut album, “My Best Days,” which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. His current album, “Hope In Front of Me,” hit the Billboard CCM chart at No. 1 in its first week of release.
