One doesn’t often hear of someone trying to break into jail.
At around 11:45 p.m. Aug. 11, Talisha McCann, 42, Skyline Drive in Russellville, walked up to the west rear gate of the jail and attempted to make entry by cutting the fence and was spotted on camera, according to Sheriff Shannon Oliver.
“She was taken into custody, and on her person was two large bags of tobacco, a small amount of controlled substance and a cellphone,” Oliver said.
McCann was charged with possession of burglar tools, criminal mischief third, trespass second, promoting prison contraband second and possession of a controlled substance.
Bond was set at $8,000.
