BBQ cook-off joins festival events
Sponsored by Pilgrim’s, a BBQ cook-off is perhaps the biggest new event for the Watermelon Festival.
The amateur cook-off at the A.W. Todd Center will include cook-off teams competing for the prize and glory in the following categories: Boston butt, pork ribs, chicken whole, chicken quarter legs, chicken wings, people’s choice and grand champion. Entries will be judged on creativity, taste, tenderness and appearance Saturday afternoon, and awards will be given at 5:30 p.m.
