Emily Beth Raper, 48, Russellville, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015.

She lived her entire life in Franklin County.  She was a proud member of the Russellville High School class of 1985 where she was in the academic top 10 percent.  She was also a member of the National Honor Society.  At the time of her accident, she was attending the University of North Alabama, majoring in accounting.

Emily suffered a severe brain injury due to an automobile accident at the age of 19 and spent numerous days in the intensive care unit.  She was able to be moved to her home where she was kept by her parents, sisters, friends and special caregivers.  She was placed in Burns Nursing Home one year ago where she passed from this life on Saturday evening.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from noon until 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville.  Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Dennis Steward officiating.   Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Survivors include mother, Judy Seal Raper; sisters, Pamela Faye Raper, Lori Raper Porter and husband, Larry; nephew, Dale Porter.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Raper.

Special thanks to all the caregivers that were with Emily for 28 years and also, thanks to Burns Nursing Home.
