One of Alabama’s Silverhaired Legislators, Robert “Bobby” Barnard Pace, Sr., 85, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Pace was a native of Franklin County and was the owner of Pace Radio & TV for 30 years. He also worked at Reynolds Metals and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with the rank of sergeant. He attended Auburn University and played for the Russellville Travelers baseball team. He was a member of the Russellville JC’s, the 49er’s Club, and Bassmasters.

The funeral service was Monday, July 6, 2015, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville. Jeff Fleming officiated. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday.

Survivors include children, Robert B. Pace, Jr., and wife, Carolyn and Paulette Cowan and husband, Jack; sisters, Patsy Taylor and Sue Bendall; grandchildren, Allison Pinkard and husband, Marty, Lance Pace and Jake Cowan and wife, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Samuel Pace, Alex Pace, Abram Thorn, Jayce Cowan and Chloe Cowan.

He was preceded in death by wife, Annie Pauline Pace; son, Mark Pace and daughter, Tammy Pace; and parents, John Lance and Annie Green Pace.
