School board approves requests, personnel items

A 10-minute school board meeting June 24 was all business as the board quickly approved standard items such as the financial report, salary schedules and facility use requests, as well as personnel items.
Superintendent Heath Grimes presented, and the board approved, the following facility use requests:
– RHS: Aug. 8, Kiwanis bike ride
– RHS stadium: June 29, RHS Booster Club Shoals Kicking Camp
Grimes presented, and the board approved, the following trip requests:
– RHS football: June 26-27, 7-on-7 in Daphne
– RHS football: July 17, 7-on-7 in Killen
Grimes presented the following personnel items, which were approved by the board:

– Hailey Clark, Teacher, RMS
Transfer in Position
– Natalie Bendall, from assistant principal at RES to assistant principal at RMS
– Paula Young, from teacher at RES to assistant principal at RES
– Dana Crummie, from second grade teacher at WES to fourth grade teacher at
RES
Employment in Position for 2015-2016
– Joshua Dobbins, at-risk teacher, WES
– Kayla Odom, math teacher, RMS
– Kelsey Pruitt, English/language arts teacher, RMS
– Kendra Howard, English/language arts teacher, RMS
– Angela Pickens, science teacher, RMS – pending Alabama Certification prior to
Aug. 1.
– Gabe Willis, science teacher, RMS
– Mallory Wooten Kincaid, instructional coach, RMS & RHS
– Jason Goodwin, assistant principal at RHS

The next RCS School Board meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 6 at 10 a.m. to recognize the RCS Engineering team. The next regular meeting will be July 23 at 3:30 p.m., and the work session will be July 20 at 3:30 p.m.
