Stratton U. Barnes Sr., age 86, of Russellville, left this world surrounded by his family on Monday Oct. 20, 2014.
Visitation was Wednesday night, Oct. 22, 2014, at Akins Funeral Home with service Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 in the funeral home chapel. Interment was in the mausoleum at Franklin Memory Gardens. Bro Joe Lenox officiated. Serving as pallbearers were family and friends.
He was a life long resident and businessman of FranklinCounty. He was a member of CalvaryBaptistChurch and Masonic Lodge #371.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lolita Barnes; son Stratton U. Barnes II; parents Howard and Laura Barnes; brothers Wayne, Joe, Benny, and Zollie; and sisters Rachael, Retha, and Marie.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Cabral and husband Joseph; daughter-in-law, Judy Barnes; grandchildren, Helen Copeland and husband Chris, Melanie Malone and husband Bradley, Kevin Cabral, Donovan Barnes and wife Alana; many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Calvary Mission Fund or the Charity of your choice.
