Man arrested for taking inappropriate pictures
A Russellville man is in jail after being accused of taking pictures up women’s skirts in the Russellville Wal-Mart.
Javier Salgado, 41, 202 Sockwell Ave., Russellville, has been charged with two counts of criminal surveillance and one count of harassment, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
According to Hargett, a victim filed a report last Thursday after she said a Hispanic male had attempted to take pictures of her between her legs while she was shopping at the local Wal-Mart.
Hargett said the victim was able to give a description of the suspect and an investigation was launched.
According to police investigator Lt. Scotty Lowery, one of the officers recognized Salgado from the description and Lt. Chad Sheffield attempted to make contact with Salgado later that day.
“After Lt. Sheffield located the suspect, he fled on foot and Lt. Sheffield apprehended him and took him into custody on separate charges,” Lowery said.
Hargett said Salgado was later charged in the incident at Wal-Mart.
“There have been two victims come forward so far and there could be others who come forward in the next few days,” Lowery said.
Salgado is currently in custody at the Franklin County Jail.
