Ambulance issue tabled
During Monday’s business meeting, the Franklin County Commission tabled the issue of establishing a county-wide ambulance service for Franklin County.
The issue was tabled at the request of Franklin County EMA director Roy Gober, who serves on the county’s EMS committee, which was established to review requests for proposal and recommend an ambulance service to the commission.
Gober said some of the committee members had questions about some of the proposals and those questions had not been answered as of Monday morning.
Commission chairman Barry Moore said the issue would likely be tabled until their next business meeting on June 16.
The three providers that have submitted proposals include Pleasant Bay Ambulance Service, Transcare Ambulance Service, and Shoals Ambulance Service.
