Lady Tigers compete at Hatton tourney
The Russellville Lady Golden Tigers (5-10) competed in the Hatton Invitational this past weekend.
The Lady Tigers’ first game was Friday against Colbert County. Stacy Godsey pitched five innings picking up four strikeouts. Kalli Beth Daniel got the Tigers only hit.
Russellville lost to Colbert County 10-0.
Game number two was Saturday morning at nine. The Lady Tigers lost to Hatton 5-4. Rachel Hunter pitched five innings with eight strikeouts but gave up six walks. Hunter only allowed two hits. Kayla Cochran led the Lady Tigers offensively going three for three with two runs scored. Sydney Burcham had a two-run homer in the third. Kalli Beth Daniel had a single RBI along with Rachel Hunter’s single and RBI in the top of the fifth. Russellville was ahead going in to the final inning but Hatton rallied to score three and win 5-4.
In the final game Saturday afternoon, the Tigers lost 4-6 against East Lawrence. Rachel Hunter pitched four innings with four strikeouts and only allowed three hits. Kayla Cochran, Sydney Burcham, Kalli Beth Daniel, Megan Brockway, Ally Willis, and Brooke Borden all had singles with Rachel Hunter, Jakari Suggs and Ally Willis all driving in a run.
The Lady Tigers will host the Russellville Tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Russellville High School Field.
