Lady Tigers beat Belgreen 65-36

The Red Bay Lady Tigers improved their season record to 22-2 with a 65-36 win over the Belgreen Lady Bulldogs last Thursday.

After a slow start, Red Bay’s Elizabeth Wooten and Allie Kennedy hit the board first to give Red Bay a 4-0 lead at the five-minute mark.

Belgreen’s Lexie Bragwell completed a four play after connecting on a basket and two foul shots to tie the game at four all.

With just over a minute remaining in the first quarter, Belgreen’s Allyson Bragwell put the Lady Bulldogs up 9-7 for their only lead of the night.

Red Bay went on a 10-point scoring run in the final seconds while the Tigers’ defense held Belgreen scoreless to take a 17-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Red Bay outscored Belgreen 26-10 in the second to take a 43-19 lead going into the third quarter.

Leading 53-19 midway through the third quarter, Red Bay coach Donnie Roberts cleared the bench to give the remaining players some game time.

Kasey Sparks led Red Bay with 20 points; Allie Kennedy and Hope Cook had eight each.

Darby Madden and Elizabeth Wooten scored seven each.

Allyson Bragwell led Belgreen with 10 points, Jasmine Martin had six.
