Red Bay girls cruise past Cherokee in 55-14 win

The Red Bay Lady Tigers improved their season record to 14 wins and only two losses last Friday with an easy 55-14 win over Cherokee.

With a 26-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, Red Bay coach Donnie Roberts began substituting to give all his Lady Tigers extra game experience.

At halftime Red Bay led 41-10.

Senior Jade Faulkner started the third quarter with a steal and a completed three-point play to give Red Bay a 44-10 lead.

With a 51-14 lead, senior Hannah McKinney kicked off the fourth quarter for Red Bay with two back-to-back two pointers.

The Lady Tigers held the Lady Indians scoreless in the fourth.

Darby Madden led Red Bay with 10 points, Hope Cook scored nine, Elizabeth Wooten added eight, Brooklyn Bolton scored six, Allie Kennedy and Hannah McKinney scored five each.

Katie Burks, Danielle Hastings, Jade Faulkner and Kasey Sparks made three each.

Cosby led Cherokee with six.

Red Bay will host Tremont on Jan. 7 and will play Phil Campbell on Jan. 10.

The Franklin County Tournament is scheduled for January 14-18.
