Jeanne Barrett Hargett, 85, of Russellville, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Russellville Hospital.

Mrs. Hargett was a lifelong resident of Russellville, a homemaker and a member of Russellville First Baptist Church.  She was a published author of more than 200 children’s stories and poems and a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

The funeral service was Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.  Officiating was Dr. Phil Newton.  The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday.

Survivors include husband, George Hargett; sons, Chris Hargett and wife, Virginia, Northport, Jeff Hargett and wife, Debbie, Rome, Ga., Brian Hargett, Tupelo, Miss; daughter-in-law, Jody Hargett, Bolingbrook, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, John and Mattie Barrett; son, David Hargett; two sisters and two brothers.
