James A. Garrett

James A. Garrett, 87, Golden, Miss. (formerly of Russellville) passed away Friday, De. 13, 2013 at Southern Magnolia Assisted Living, Golden, Miss.

Mr. Garrett served his country in the U.S. Army.  He had worked as a truck driver with the State Highway Department.

The visitation was Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral service followed in the chapel with Bro. James McCullar officiating.  Burial was at Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is survived by step-daughter-in-law, Linda Madden; step-grandchildren, Jeff Madden, Shea Madden, Jeremy Madden, Stephanie Mayfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Lillian Garrett, Barbara Pounders Garrett; parents, Otis and Evie (Fundenburk) Garrett; 3 brothers, 5 sisters.

The pallbearers were Jeff Madden, Shea Madden, Jeremy Madden, Mike Mayfield, Hunter Smith, and Kody Madden.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Terrace Manor Nursing Home and Southern Magnolia Assisted Living for the love and care of Mr. Garrett.
