NW-SCC, North American Lighting hosting job fair

Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) will host a job fair Saturday, July 20, in the Patriot Center (gym) on the Shoals campus from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in partnership with North American Lighting and Tasus.

NW-SCC is working toward training students for over 400 plastic injection molding positions that are expected in the next 12-24 months. However, local companies have immediate job vacancies, which need to be filled in the injection molding field.

“Through this job fair we hope to provide an avenue for our industry partners to fill some of their current needs and begin compiling a database of interested individuals for future employment as well,” said NW-SCC President, Dr. Humphrey Lee.

“We have put this job fair together with the mission of being able to help anyone who walks through the door on the 20th to find a job, find a better job or get them on the right track to getting that job.”

Along with North American Lighting and Tasus, the Shoals Career Center and NW-SCC programs Ready to Work, Adult Education, Career Tech, and Admissions/Financial Aid will have booths with representatives to assist and answer any questions people may have. Job seekers will have the added benefit of access to computer stations to fill out online job applications.

For more information on the job fair, please contact the NW-SCC Vice President of Instruction’s office at 256-331-5240.
